Screaming reel and the ghost of the flats is tearing across the horizon.  Man this is the Bahamas and it is great!  Join D&H in the Islands.

ITINERARY
Thursday: travel to Andros Island; take a shuttle to Andros Bay Cottages; get settled in, discuss conditions with the head guide and go over our gear in preparation for the next day; refreshments and dinner; get a good night sleep
Friday thru Tuesday: breakfast, 5 days of guided fly fishing, lunch on the flats; dinner
Wednesday: breakfast; travel home relaxed and reenergized

FISHING
Andros is laced with thousands of miles of inland waterways and fishing flats. North, Middle and South Bights cut right through the island, east to west, creating a natural access to even more flats on the west side of the island. These provide world-class conditions for fly fishermen in pursuit of bonefish and tarpon.
Each morning we will meet our guide who will take us to the flats where we will pursue our quarry from the boat or by wading.  The flats we fish will be determined by the tides, moon and temperature.  There are more flats than can be fished in a lifetime.  Hundreds, if not thousands, of bonefish may be seen in a single day, averaging three to five pounds.  Andros Island is the largest island of the Bahamas and also offers some of the biggest bonefish anywhere in the world.  Five and six pound fish are common.  Fifteen pounders have been landed.
Numerous other saltwater game species are found here.  You may have an opportunity to fish for sharks, barracuda, jacks, permit, and tarpon.  It is doubtful you will ever see another angler while you are fishing.  Most often we find ourselves stalking bonefish in total seclusion.

THE ISLAND
Andros is Bahamas’ most extraordinary natural wonder.  All of The Bahamas Out Islands boast abundant natural attractions, but Andros Island—the largest yet most sparsely developed of all The Bahamas—is the king when it comes to superlative natural experiences.  The earth’s third-largest barrier reef lies adjacent to its shores.  A mile-deep abyss—walled with coral and filled with whales, dolphin, marlin and all the wondrous reef animals—that’s called the Tongue of the Ocean, licks along Andros’ east coast.  Mangrove-lined wetlands cover huge swaths of Andros, intercut with endless mazes of channels that open onto bonefish flats and hidden beaches.
Fly fishermen set off in small boats with experienced local guides who somehow know their way through the criss-crossed confusion of cuts and channels that split Andros Island into three sections, and find the flats filled with silvery bonefish.

LODGING
We will be staying in newly built cottages that are set back just a few feet away from miles of bone fishing flats with a breath taking view of the ocean.  The location can’t be beat, as it puts us on flats in short order.  There is a main building where all of our meals will be served and drinks can be had while telling your fish tales.  This is s very nice and clean, but totally relaxed Bahamas fish camp.

DINING
What can make your tropical island vacation spectacular besides the fishing?  Why, the food of course!
We will be indulging in traditional Bahamian dishes and also some American style meals.  After a day of fishing, we'll get together in the bar area to have a few drinks and get our appetites going for dinner.  It's the perfect way to reflect on another great day and plan our fishing for tomorrow.
Take your time, enjoy your drink and discover the real Bahamas with your taste buds!

GUIDES
Our team of guides is led by Ricardo, one of the best guides on the island.  The guides have experience not just in fishing, but in catering to fishermen.  The guides know the waters, are friendly, helpful and experienced.  They are experts in spotting feeding bonefish from a long distance and can help you get the most out of your trip.  We fish from modern flat boats with cushioned seats, dry storage and comfortable casting platforms.  The boats are sound and properly equipped.

GEAR LIST
Please see the Gear List for our specific recommendations to make sure you are prepared for your adventure.

PRICING
The price is $2420.  The price includes five days fully guided fly fishing, meals and lodging at Andros Bay Cottages and shuttle to and from the airport on Andros Island (if you are travelling at the same time as our group).  This price is based on double occupancy and 2 people in a boat.
The pricing excludes air transportation, telephone calls, alcohol, personal items and gratuities for guides and lodging staff.  There is a $20 cash departure fee for anyone leaving the Bahama Islands.

PAYMENT
Please make checks payable to D&H Travel.  No credit cards.  Please send payment to:  D&H Travel, 2708 Erie Avenue, Cincinnati, OH  45208.

CANCELLATION POLICY
The trip is non-refundable after March 15, 2012.  No exceptions.
If you cancel in writing before March 15, 2012, your payment, less $100 per person processing fee, will be refunded to you.  No refund is made for any unused land arrangements.  We strongly recommend trip cancellation insurance.  Receipt of deposit by D&H Travel is acknowledgement that registrant has read and accepts cancellation/refund and responsibility clauses.

Note To Group Leaders:  It is important that as group leader you share this pre-trip information with all members of your party so that everyone is adequately prepared, understands the cancellation/refund policy pertaining to the trip and has the opportunity to purchase the travel protection.  D&H Travel cannot assume any financial responsibility for consequences incurred if this information is not provided by you to all members of your group.

TRANSPORTATION
Andros may be slightly off the beaten path, but that's a big part of the appeal.  You are responsible for your own air transportation to Andros Island.  I have worked very hard to find the best way to get to Andros and we can discuss this as we get closer to the date and our party is intact.
