Known for their gorgeous bronze coloring, fierce fighting ability, and aggressive top water nature, Smallmouth Bass are prized among fly-fisherman. The Elkhorn Creek, located near Georgetown Kentucky, is a terriffic Smallmouth fishery. The scenery is tremendous with a mix of low lying agriculture property transitioning to towering limestone and shale cliffs. Fishing is most commonly done via float trip with canoes used for transportation between productive stretches of a 6 mile float. Walk in trips are also available. Depending upon water conditions and scouting reports, you and the guide can determine the best way to stalk the smallies! Your day will encompass a lot of great fishing! Casting proficiency is important on the Elkhorn. Although a very spacious creek, it has proven most productive with anglers comfortable with casting accuracy to 40 feet. The cost of the trip includes lunch, beverages, and canoe rental (for float trips). Anglers must have their own equipment and a check list is provided upon reservation. We will cancel and reschedule the trip if conditions are not favorable. Fishing begins in the Spring when water temperatures hit the low to mid 60's and continues through the summer and fall. We look forward to having you join us on the Elkhorn Creek. Cost for Float Trip $250/1 Angler and $350/2 Anglers.
