Great fast action rod for smallmouth fishing or throwing big streamers for aggressive brown trout. What sets this rod apart from other fast action rods is that you can change to a trout tapered line and use hand tied leaders for spring creek presentations.
Designed for Maximum Line Control
Although these rods have a lightweight feel they will load quickly and easily. The power of the Horizon rod enables you to lift long sections of line off the water, produce clean, crisp loops into stiff breezes and do complex line mending. Whether it's casting a long line into a howling wind or muscling a stubborn fish from the depths, you provide the necessary input and the rod responds instantly and effortlessly with a stellar performance. The saltwater environment is one of the most challenging. Casting requirements often call for presentations that are quick, accurate and long-range. Experienced saltwater anglers know that they can depend on Horizon rods to deliver the fly quickly to where it must be and then bring the fish to the net.
Handles and Reel Seats: Rods with line weights 3-6 wt. are fitted with a Western grip and up-locking screw reel seat and black anodized fittings with a bubinga wood spacer. 7wt. and higher rods are fitted with a Full Wells grip, black salt-proof up-locking anodized reel seat, cork fighting butt extension and oversized snake and stripping guides. S-models through 9 wt. feature a 1 1/2" fighting butt, 10 wt. and higher use a 2".
