Montana Fly Fishing Trip
Our Price: $2,850.00
September 12-17, 2009
We will be visiting the southwestern part of Montana. This part of Big Sky country is blessed with large agricultural valleys ringed by snow-capped mountains and some of Montana's best trout fishing and waterfowl hunting. This is the real West. The local towns are filled with ranchers, miners and trout bums.
Our party will fly into Bozeman and then travel about 80 minutes to the Healing Waters Lodge. Our hosts, Greg Lilly and Bill Kemph, are locals that have been fishing and hunting Montana their whole lives. Greg has been guiding in the West for over 40 years. Bill grew up on a cattle operation in the same valley you will be enjoying your sporting adventure and has been guiding for 20 years. I think it is safe to say that these folks have Montana in their blood and under their fingernails. Their lodge, located just outside Twin Bridges, is a true Montana fish camp, complete with hot showers, great food and very comfortable rooms. The dining house is perfect for the great meals and tall tales after a full day on the stream.
Each evening the guides will talk with our group of anglers to decide the plan of attack for the next day. You can float one of the larger western rivers in SW Montana such as the Madison, Jefferson, Big Hole or Beaverhead. You can walk wade on smaller meadow streams like the Ruby, the Upper Clark's Fork, the South Boulder or Flint creek which all flow through beautiful private ranches. You can pit your skills against wily spring creek trout on local spring fed streams to which Healing Waters have exclusive access. Finally if you are really into fishing for truly large trout then you should consider spending a day on a still water fishery with a Healing Waters guide who knows the reservoirs and spring ponds in our area.
For the hunters in the crowd, waterfowl season opens after the first of October. Why not combine a fishing trip with some waterfowl hunting. Our waterfowl hunts cover thousands of acres of private river bottom, spring creeks, sloughs, ponds, and portions of the Beaverhead River. If this sounds of interest to you, contact Mark.
As with all of our D&H Travel customers, you will receive a D&H Travel Discount Card that is good for 20% off of anything in the shop from the time you make your deposit till the day you leave on your adventure.
The cost of the trip is $2850. This includes lodging, food, all beverages except hard alcohol and guides. Transportation to and from Bozeman is not included.
