MONTANA FLY FISHING: BIG HOLE LODGE

Our Price: $3,100.00

Fly into either Butte or Bozeman (depending on airlines) and then travel to the Big Hole Lodge. Our host, Craig Fellin, has owned and operated Big Hole River Outfitters since 1984. A guide can make or break a fly fishing trip and the guiding staff deserves special mention. Craig's business philosophy is very simple, "try and make each fishing day the best you will ever have and our guides will strive to do this for you and do it with a smile." Craig has guided in Argentina, fished New Zealand on numerous occasions and the Yucatan in Mexico with his son Wade.

If you ask the guide staff why the return to the Big Hole Lodge, they'll tell you that the Big Hole offers the finest fly fishing in the world. If you are an accomplished fly fisherman, our guides will help you take your skill to new levels. If you are a beginner, you will advance in the sport quickly. The guides are the main reason the clients return year after year. Clients learn something new every day, sometimes with each cast. All of the guides have a reverence for the river that they share intimately and uniquely with each and every client.

The lodge is nestled in a magnificent wilderness setting with a beautiful trout stream at your doorstep. With a maximum capacity of 8-10 guests, emphasis is on personalized service and warm hospitality, which the lodge has become renowned for. The main lodge itself, built of local river rock and lodgepole pine, is the perfect place to relax over a cocktail and enjoy a spectacular view of the Rocky Mountains. Craig's talented chef will prepare you meals that are unforgettable and served by a courteous and gracious staff.

A week of fishing may look like this: the first day of fishing may begin with a full day float on the legendary Big Hole River, known for its beauty and world class wild trout fishing. The next day might find you floating the Beaverhead River, one of the finest tailwater fisheries in the country. On day three, you might wade a private spring creek that Craig leases with trout averaging 18" and some landed in the 23"+ range. On the fourth you might wade the upper Clark Fork, Rock Creek, Horse Prairie Creek, and Deep Creek or float the Bitterroot River. The last day will find you floating a different stretch of the Big Hole with plenty of time to get out and wade.

As with all of our D&H Travel customers, you will receive a D&H Travel Discount Card that is good for 20% off of anything in the shop from the time you make your deposit till the day you leave on your adventure.

Four days of guided fishing and five nights: $3100.  Other length of stays are available.  This includes guides, lodging, food and all beverages, except hard alcohol. Transportation to and from Bozeman is not included.

If you have questions about this lodge or any of the Montana destinations and which may be best suited to your party, please contact Mark at 513-871-FISH or mark@BestGear.com.
