Toasty warm windproof hat with a bill for sun protection. This has been a staple in our Cincinnati shop for years.

The optimist's hat – earflaps combined with warm insulation offset an upslope flow, but with a shadow-casting bill for the sun's return. Soft, fast-drying, earth-friendly Synchilla fleece forms both the crown and the fold-down earflaps; they hug the nape of your neck for extra protection in nasty weather.

The nylon duckbill brim protects face and eyes from high alpine sun, and has a dark underside to reduce glare. A back buckle customizes the fit.
